My Favorite Foods for Clear Skin

Published by Equibal Labs on Apr 18th 2018

Hi Everyone!

I hope the Spring chill hasn't got you down! How's your skin looking today? I hope you're glowing from the inside out. Today, I would like to talk more in-depth regarding food, as I very much enjoy it :-) We've broached the topic on what foods to eat and which to avoid. That can be tough because anyone who knows me knows that I adore sweets. Cakes, brownies, cookies, pies, donuts<3<3<3. I also love pizza, cheeseburgers, empanadas, fried chicken, bacon, macaroni and cheese, french fries, etc. All the stuff you're not supposed to eat, we love. And that's OK, so long as you do it in moderation! I admit I love all of it and hardly discriminate (except for fruitcake). But when I eat too much of these foods, my energy levels plummet, my skin slowly begins to take the appearance of a minefield and I quickly have to re-adapt my taste palette to more whole foods and water to restore my complexion. Did you know that's a thing? Retraining your taste buds to crave foods with rich nutritional content instead of foods loaded with sugar and fat? It's something I had to do in order for my skin to clear up. The process will take about 30 days for you to see a difference. You read that? Just one month of clean habits and you'll see a noticeable difference in your face. So what foods do I like to eat when I want my skin to look it's best? Here's a list:

  • Spinach*
  • Sweet Potatoes*
  • Carrots*
  • Lemon Water (drink this first thing in the morning, within an hour of waking and you will be energized and glowing)
  • Green Tea*
  • Avocado*
  • Salmon*
  • Apples
  • Blueberries*
  • Strawberries
  • Oatmeal*
  • Cream of Wheat
  • Bananas
  • Dark chocolate (nice healthy treat that is suggested to be at least 65% cacao)
  • Oranges
  • Ginger root*
  • Pineapple
  • Green juice (I like to make mine with a spinach base with 1-2 fruits, a thumb of ginger, flax seed and water, almond milk sometimes)
  • 100% whole wheat bread

I put an asterisk next to the foods that have really helped me improve. Get yourself all or a good number of these items next time you go grocery shopping and see not only how you look but how you feel. You just might make the turn to clean living because the benefits are life-changing and life-sustaining!

A Blemfree Enthusiast,

Sabine
